News: Panos Tziniolis announces new album Dr.Fen, official launch set for April 29 at Half Note Athens
Greek drummer and composer Panos Tziniolis has just unveiled his brand-new album Dr.Fen, marking an important personal milestone: his first full record built entirely around his own original music.
Recorded last June, Dr.Fen brings together an inspired trio featuring:

George Kontrafouris — organ
Sakis Tsinoukas — guitar
The album includes eight original compositions, written by Tziniolis, Kontrafouris, and Tsinoukas, alongside two rare pieces originally composed by Tziniolis’ father around 1962, newly re-imagined for the trio format. The result is a deeply personal release that blends jazz, Latin jazz, rock, and organ-driven groove into a rich, expressive listening experience.
Recording and mixing took place at Studio SynEna by Giannis Tavoularis, with mastering handled by Vangelis Karapetros, while all visual artwork was created by Giannis Chaldezos.
Speaking about the project, Tziniolis describes Dr.Fen as the fulfillment of a long-held dream:
“I’m truly happy to have achieved one of my biggest goals — making an album with my own music.”
