News: Keep Shelly in Athens unveil V, an album that lingers between light and shadow
Greek electro/ dream pop mainstays Keep Shelly in Athens have just returned with V, their fifth full-length album, released on January 16, 2026 via Bandcamp.
Written and recorded over a long, quiet period, V unfolds with a restrained confidence, drifting between intimacy and distance, light and shadow, memory and presence. Rather than making bold declarations, the album invites the listener into a contemplative space where repetition, subtle variation, and emotional understatement take center stage.
“These songs don’t try to explain themselves,” the band notes. “They linger, they repeat, they fade — and sometimes they return changed.” In that sense, V feels less like a statement and more like a place to remain for a while, allowing its melodies and textures to slowly reveal themselves.
The album opens with “A Flower and a Waterfall”, setting a delicate, inward-looking tone that carries through tracks like “Remember,” “Wry,” “Lonely Times,” and “Queen of the Ashes.” Across its eleven tracks, V refines the band’s signature blend of hazy electronics, soft pop structures, and understated vocals, emphasizing mood and atmosphere over immediacy.
V was written and produced by RΠЯ, with lyrics by Natali Sideri. Mixing duties were handled by RΠЯ and George Priniotakis, while mastering was completed by George Priniotakis at Artracks Studios in Athens, ensuring a warm, detailed sonic palette that suits the album’s introspective nature.
The digital album is available now on Bandcamp for €5, offering streaming and high-quality downloads (MP3, FLAC, and more). The release further expands the already extensive Keep Shelly in Athens catalog, which now spans over a decade of consistently immersive work.
With V, Keep Shelly in Athens once again prove that subtlety, patience, and emotional precision remain powerful tools — especially when the goal is not to impress, but to quietly resonate.
