News: 24th Athens Jazz | Open Call for Greek Jazz Ensembles

The Athens Jazz Festival, the city’s biggest jazz celebration, returns for its 24th year. From May 26 to June 1, 2025, Technopolis City of Athens will host a week of live concerts and special events with free entry, bringing together artists and bands from around the world on Athens’ premier live music stage.

Each year, before unveiling its international lineup, Athens Jazz shines a spotlight on Greek artists, strengthening their presence on the global jazz scene. Once again, the festival will dedicate a full day to the Greek jazz scene, featuring some of the country’s most creative musicians, selected by the festival’s artistic committee.

How to Participate

If you are part of a jazz ensemble and want to perform at the city’s top jazz event, now is your chance. Submit your application by February 19, 2025, and compete for a spot in one of three categories:

Official Greek Representative. The act that will represent Greece in the festival’s international lineup.

Jazz Plus Category. A musician or band that fuses jazz with other genres, even if they do not strictly belong to the jazz scene.

New Talent Spotlight. A fresh and emerging act, showcasing the future of Greek jazz.

Selection Process

A four-member artistic committee will review applications and select the final participants. The committee consists of:

Leonidas Antonopoulos, music producer and director of Kosmos 93.6

Giorgos Mouchtaridis, radio producer at Kosmos 93.6

Tania Giannouli, pianist and composer

Angelos Kleitsikas, music journalist
