Live Agenda: NUKeLEUS live @ Poetry Bar, January 15th

The great American saxophonist Graig Bailey has said about them that they are the strongest rhythm section he has played with in Europe.

In reality, however, pianist Sami Amiri, drummer Giannis Stavropoulos, and bassist Periklis Trivolis are more than just an exceptional rhythm section. Their impressive technical skill and deep musical education allow them to go beyond rhythm and melody, creating music that is demanding, substantive, and technical, flirting with the contemporary classical tradition while still grounded in jazz improvisation. Their repertoire is almost "unorthodox," showcasing the capabilities of the piano trio outside the conventional boundaries.

Since their formation in 2006, the NUKeLEUS trio has participated in many music festivals in Greece and abroad. The trio is currently in the process of recording an audiovisual rendition of their old repertoire, while also planning their upcoming new projects.
